| Originally joining the military from school and maintaining the values of self discipline and team working to achieve success, Craig has now been involved in health and wellbeing for over 20 years. He has a passion (some would say a mission) to reduce the burden of non-communicable disease, through empowering people to make and sustain positive lifestyle choices. Craig holds a 1st Class B.Sc (Hons) degree in sports science and an M.Phil in the “effects of a community based exercise referral programme for the health and wellbeing of people with chronic low back pain”.
An exercise physiologist by training, Craig has previously held the posts of Head of Prevention at NHS Bedfordshire, and national programme manager for the NHS Health Check programme at Public Health England. He has also sat on national expert groups to develop senior level training and skills within the fitness sector.
He has a long standing interest in evolutionary physiology and how our move away from the natural environment exacerbates modern health challenges. Craig joined TCV in August to lead the expansion of the Green Gym programme, which enables him to realise his passion to support population level change in health behaviours.
